An Update

I just realized when I said I wasn't going to do anymore medical posts, I forgot to follow it up with and "I'm fine" post. I am so much better. The bronchitis is gone and I feel much more like myself. I have hopefully my last follow-up this week with the surgeon and all that is left is a feeling like something is in my tooth or on that side of my mouth. I started eating regular foods and my mouth only hurts when I talk too much or eat too much (or try and move food off the roof of my mouth). I am going to think of it as God's way of telling me to be quiet or stop eating.

I am overdue with some thanks. T.J., K.W., J.P. and J.D, thank you for the delicious meals! I'm afraid my family is going to drum up some new tragedies just to get you guys to cook for us. I know I was against you guys bringing meals over but I wasn't banking on getting sick so thank you for knowing what I needed before I even did. It really helped us out. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I need to say this and whether you believe it or not, is up to you. I was always taught that when two or more stand in prayer, that prayer will be heard. When my neighbors that are in a neighborhood bible study stood in prayer, every single thing we prayed for came to be. If only we had the foresight to have prayed that I didn't contract bronchitis while at the hospital (and how scary is that?) but who would have ever thought it. We prayed that the pain was manageable. It was. We prayed that they wouldn't release me until I knew I could take the medicine. They didn't. We prayed for understanding from everyone involved and that was answered. My pre-op nurse even prayed with me and whether you think that is inappropriate or not, it calmed me immediately so I appreciated it. We prayed that the results would be no cancer and they were. When the surgeon said to me that he questions whether it was ever cancer based on what he saw, I said, "Say what you want but I believe it was the power of prayer and that this was the work of God." I don't say that to be trite. I just don't have any other explanation for it. Can one family really have that bad of luck that they get a pathologist that is that bad that he misdiagnosed something? I look at the boys and all that they battle and how they rise above it and believe that it is through the power of prayer (for their health but also that their meds are working and that CF won't stop them) that they are doing so well. I look at Gia...well...I just know she is from years of praying. I find so much comfort in knowing that God is in charge of my life (it's too much for just me to shoulder) and that the road to where he wants me to be, which is happy, is not always paved smoothly but once I get there, the rewards are that much sweeter.

Sounds like you're feeling better in more ways than one. :-*
