Unanswered Emails, Insomnia and Haircuts

I keep giving Nico's school a chance to prove it isn't as bad as I think it is and I am disappointed each time. I emailed his teachers telling them what is going on and why he is going to miss a few days (we do have to go to Lutheran General on Thursday) and only 1 of the 8 teachers responded back (his Languae Arts teacher). Maybe I am wrong and I didn't need to email them in the first place. Maybe I need to lower my expectations. If I was still teaching, how my kids were doing outside of school would help me to know how they were doing inside of school but maybe that is just me. I don't get it and I would like to stop feeling like they just don't care. He went to school afraid to be too far behind but I am fully expecting a phone call.

On the topic of emails, I still don't get how people run businesses and don't answer emails. The vest company hasn't responded to the two times I have reached out and neither has the cleaning lady. Ugh!

Gia hates when I am on the computer or phone (home and cell). I have been trying to write the blog at night when Gia goes to bed. The problem is that I am exhausted and my house is a little like Humpty Dumpty and by the time I put it back together, I am sleeping with my eyes open. The worst part is that insomnia has hit hard over here. I feel a little crazy because I keep hearing noises at night. Things sound like they are falling or my door keeps sounding like it is opening. Three nights now, I have succeeded in working myself up into a panic that someone has either broken in or an animal is walking around in the kitchen. I've tried waking Leo to go see what was making the noise but it is like waking the dead. How did Carol Brady always get Mike to go check on noises? You'd think with the time I spend awake, I'd be able to blog but the two nights it has happened, the computer was in the kitchen and I wasn't going to go to the kitchen to get it.

Still working on a few posts that will be overdue. Getting a real haircut today. I hate cutting my hair but I am starting to look like Cher...not Moonstruck Cher...Mask Cher and if I wait any longer, it's going to end up looking a little Sonny and Cher. I usually end up chickening out. I'm sure I could analyze why I hate cutting my hair and it probably ends up being because of the ugly bowl haircut I had when I was younger but I really hate anything high maintenance and it is just easier to have long hair that doesn't have to be cut very often. Plus, I will be the 80 year old woman who is still wearing a ponytail. I love the ponytail. Not the classy, casual, low one that is hot in Hollywood right now. The high, looks like an updo, big one that was hot back in 1988. Wish me luck that suddenly my hairdresser's comb becomes a magic wand and I end up with Evangeline Lily's or Jennifer Aniston's hair!
